Nails
You should know that your beardie has very sharp nails. When handling your dragon you need to be very wary of his toenails. An effective solution to this problem is wearing long sleeves & gloves. It will also help if you trim the toenails every couple of weeks.
Bacteria
Reptiles can carry Salmonella bacteria in their mouths. Humans can easily be infected with this bacteria. If you have any open wounds you should avoid handling your bearded dragon. After you have finished playing with your dragon you should wash your hands thoroughly.
Skin
You may also want to know that their rough skin can cause problems. It can easily scratch your skin if you’re not too careful. Once again wearing long sleeves will prevent this from becoming a problem. You can also protect your hands by wearing a light pair of gloves.
Age
If you have a younger dragon you need to handle him very carefully. Hatchlings & babies can easily be harmed if you’re too rough with them. Tail
If you’re not careful you can easily break your dragon’s tail off. Therefore never pick him up by the tail. Although the tail will eventually grow back if it breaks off. But it won’t look the same as the original. Also your lizard would experience extreme pain if his tail broke off.
